For nature lovers, the Algarve offers several options, from wildlife, such as bird watching in Vilamoura or on the Costa Vicentina, nature areas like the Castro Marim Marshland Nature Reserve and Vila Real de Santo António or the variety of landscapes. Privileged places with unique panoramic views.

At Costa Vicentina the strong presence of nature is felt in the steep dark-coloured cliffs, interspersed with small beaches. The south coast, gentle and attractive, is composed of colorful cliffs and miles of beaches framed by pine forests.

Inland, the Barrocal, a wide strip of limestone lands, is Algarve's orchard and garden, with the colourful hues of almond, fig, orange and carob trees. This is the region of whitewashed walls with facades and features framed by bright colours and elaborate lace-like chimneys found all the way to the sea. Further north are the hills, a succession of soft rounded shapes, with vast spaces and a varied flora.

For lovers of sports and adventure, there are several locations for diving and canoeing. If you prefer trails sports, the Algarve has several mountain biking or Hiking options, as well as several safaris through the mountains of the Algarve.

If you have something more radical in mind, you can go rock climbing at Rocha da Pena, next to Salir. Without a doubt one of the most emblematic spots. If you prefer flying, opt for a hot air balloon ride in the skies of the Algarve.

Culture and tradition are ever-present landmarks throughout Portugal, many of them in the Algarve, bearing testimony to the past (the São Lourenço de Matos Chapel, Silves Castle, and the Milreu Ruins are some examples). The cuisine of the Algarve is very rich, as are its sweet wines and spirits. Be sure to try a liqueur or enjoy an aromatic sweet like the Dom Rodrigo.

A day spent in the Algarve is a day loaded with emotions. Especially for the younger generation with the water parks and Zoomarine.

Evenings are warm and pleasant. Experience an evening at the Casino, a midsummer Jazz evening in Loulé or just stop and gaze at the stars. There are several astronomical observatories throughout the Algarve.
